just a question.

or what i am trying to say is does building a wheel with a higher rim profile allow me to use fewer spokes and retain the same relative strength?

and also apart from the big two what companies make both a front and rear 28 hole hubset? i know of american classic and chris king. what about hug?

all input appreciated.

ciao, ben

The deeper the profile, the less the spokes.

you will be carrying your weight over fewer spokes (usually only over the top 1/3 spokes at any given time). So, those spokes have to be thicker.

Deeper rim and fewer spokes both mean you will have a harder time truing the wheels.
