Awnser is simple :
They aren't record shifters...
For Price I don't think you will find something better (meaby 105)

Yes. They seem to have solved the rattling and reliability problems. I have about 1700 miles on mine, bought this July, and have had no problems. DA is a lot more for what seems to me to be a very similar product now.

I have the 7700 D/A They weigh a real world wt. of 398 G. Have a stiffer return spring and don't rattle. The 6510s I own are a 100 G. heavier and rattle. They do have a broader palm base and are more comfortable for my size xl hands. I believe the new 7701 STIs have the newer palm design. For myself I have learned that to buy the best is to not regret. Go for the 7701s if you can . They have a longer warranty and are much better, in mho.
