anyone using the wheels mfg spacer kit conversion with shimano freehub wheels on campy drivetrain? How is the shifting? Problems/complaints? Can you only run 8 cogs with the 9 speed campy?

How about the mavic M9 cassette with campy?

The wheels mfg cassette with campy?

Thanks in advance.

I run a Wheels MFG 9spd cassette with a Record/Chorus 9spd mix on a pair of Rolf's (Shimano compatible) and it functions extremely well. I have been a Campy user for the past 5 years and I must say that this setup shifts as smooth as an all Campy drivetrain. Do note that Wheels MFG recommends using either a Rohloff or Dura Ace chain. I hope this helps.

I also use the Wheels cassette on a Spin composite wheel with a Campy Racing Triple 9 speed drivetrain. I had to set the cassette very close to the wheel in order to fit all 9 cogs and the retaining ring on the hub but it tightened to spec and works fine (about 1000 miles so far).

The only problem I have is shifting to the small cog when in the middle ring, it is very slow to shift and I can't adjust it out without dimmishing shifting performance at several other positions. All the rest of the shifts work fine so I don't shift into that combo.

I believe this problem results from the close proximity of the small cog to the right hand drop out.
