Advice needed on Dura Ace rear der. RD7700mannyc
Sep 7, 2001 11:23 PM
I just got a Dura Ace rear der RD7700.On the owner's manual under specs. it says 26T for largest sprocket and total capacity.I'm running a 12-27 dura ace cass. Is this alright?I called the shop I bought it from and they say it okay. But when I looked on shimano's 2000 & 2001 catalog they have the RD7700 der. as 27T largest sprocket and 29T total capacity.Do I have the 99' model? They have the same model # as the one in the catalog(RD7700).Did shimano change the der. without changing the model#? or Is this two the same?
Thanks.

I don't think there is any difference in any of the RD7700's. It can't be 26 since Shimano does not even have a 26 cog 9 speed cassette. If it works then don't loose any sleep over it.
