Adjusting a Chorus front deraileurgiles

How is this done. My front will not switch from the small chain ring to the large. What do you adjust to fix this problem?

Thanks for your help!

1. Check you cable tension from the lever to the derailleur. If its too loose, you'll have the problem you are encountering. This can be tightened by loosening the cable clamp bolt on the derailleur, and pulling the cable tight w/ a needle nose plier. Also, if you have ergo levers you can tighten the cable with the barrel adjuster on the down tube where the cable housing terminates (try this first)

2. Your outer limit screw on the derailleur may need to be turned to the left to allow for the outer limit to be increased.

If you are not certain how to do either of these, check out Campy's website. They have technical docs in .pdf format. http://www.campagnolo.com

Good luck,

CC

I could only fint the PDF for the rear deraileur on the Campy website. Is the front deraileur there and I am missing it?

I do have the ergo levers. To tighten the cable with the barrel adjuster do I screw it in or out?

Thanks,

Giles

I did not realize campy did not post the tech docs on their front derailluers.

Anyway, as far as creating tension on the cable at the barrel adjuster, turn the adjuster to the left (outward), and you should be able to physically see the cable tension increasing.

Good luck
