|Want to get Flightdeck; some questions:||vmj|

|I want to get a Flightdeck computer for my bike. I've got Ultegra all the way around; but from what I've seen, I need to know the model number of the shifters (to get the right mount kit). My shifters do have 'Flightdeck' printed on them, and the right hood has two 'buttons' on it...
Here's the question: How can I find out the model number of my shifters???

|In the North American bicycle link there's a Flight Deck section with a link to a compatability chart which is dated as it doesn't show the 6501 headunit or sending unit.
You can go to the European bicycle link and to the road section for Ultegra and they actually have exploded diagrams and instructions (pdf files) which you can view. If I recall you need to roll up the hoods to actually read the model number.
If you have two buttons on the right STI, I believe you have 6501's. The 6510's are the latest with one button on each side.
I run DA and just went with a Flightdeck. I would recommend the wireless sender which is 6501 and the 6501 head unit which can store base data for up to 4 bikes if you have more than one bike. Gear ratios are also shown in chainring and cog numbers rather than inches.

|The only difference, relative to Flite Deck, is the hoods. If you can't get a SM 6500 wire harness, try to get a replacement set of single button brake hoods to go with a SM 6500RS bracket and sensor kit.|
