|I have a shimano 105 triple front derailr that I cant adjust correctly. I cant seem to get it to step down to the smallest ring, and i am using STI shifter levers. Could anyone give me some advice?|

|STI triples can be a pain to set up.
1. Disconnect the shift cable. Make sure the derailleur is aligned on the seat tube so that the outer cage is parallel with the big chain ring. When the derailleur shifts, the outer cage should miss the big chain ring by only a couple of millimeters. THIS IS USUALLY THE PROBLEM.
2. Shift the back into the biggest cog. With the cable still disconnected, the chain should miss the inner cage by one or two millimeters.
3. Make sure your front shifter is in the lowest gear position. Using needle nose pliers, pull the shift cable tight over the top of the anchor bolt and tighten the bolt.
4. Check the shifting into all three rings. You will probably have to shift into the smallest chainring before you will be able to make cable tension adjustments with a down tube barrel adjuster.
Good luck. Let me know how it turns out.

|Unless it bottoms out on the frame, it is probally the lower limit screw. Turn it CCW and it should drop down.
BTW, are you using a STI shifter that is made for a Triple? If it is Dura-Ace or a old double only type STI then you may be out of luck.
