Just picked up a Eddy Merckx bike. The seatpost size is supposed to be 27.2, but it seems way too tight. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the seattube bigger, so that it doesn't completely hackup my seatpost? Thanks.

Mavic: Have you tried honing your seat tube? They make exandable hones that fit on electric drills. Use a VERY low RPM and check your progress frequently! I had the same problem on my Atlanta. Btw, how come you're selling all your Serottas?

Before you break out the implements of destruction I'd suggest that you use a smallish wedge (a largish, but quality screwdriver works well) in where the binder bolt goes. Sometimes the binder bolt gets tightened too much w/out a seat post in it and the metal yields a bit, making it appear to be a smaller size. If they say it's 27.2 mm then it should be 27.2 mm. Sometimes you just need to tweak it back to where it belongs. Removing material shouldn't be your first option. Don't compound a small problem.

I'm selling all my serotta's not because I don't like them, but I want to get a richard sachs (my daily bike). I'm also beginning to collect some team bikes, so I need the cash.
