|Gluing my first Vittoria Open Corsa||Marty T|

|Some of my sew-ups have an easy to feel cloth tape with no latex on them, so I just go ahead and glue them. But my Vittoria Open Corsas CX's have a rubbery latex feel that I read you must scrape away before you apply the glue. I've scraped hard and nothing comes off. Any hints? Scrape harder? Sharper tool? Or do I just glue on top of this tape surface?

|Thanks, and I've been to their web site before but they do not address the issue that they make the Corsa CX with a different base tape than their other tires.
So I'm still wondering...

|I remember reading something about roughening latex base tape. However, I forgot about it when glueing my Corsa CXs on. The glue took to the base tape nicely so I'm not concerned. I'll let you know if it rolls off the rim. :-)
BTW: The Vittoria "Open" Corsa is a clincher tire. "Open" refers to the open casing. Your tire shouldn't say Open on it. Not flamin' ya...just letting you know.

|Yea, stupid me, I know Open means clincher. I've got the opens on my training wheels. I guess the fingers went into dumb mode when I typed my post. Thanks for pointing it out. And yea, I can't scrape any latex off the corsa base tape so I'm gluing mine on too. Hope we don't roll off together.
