Inexpensive Wheels for Time Trial........<more>pezzo33

need some help here, and some opinions. I am looking for a relatively inexpensive set of 700cc wheels for my time trial bike. I know this is a tall order, as most effective wheels will be sky high in price, I just do not have the money to invest in them.
Right now I am looking at Shimano WH535 wheels and Mavic Cosmic Elites. both retail around $350.
I am looking at the shimanos because I am eager to try the wheels, and have heard they are stiff, and offer some aero advantage, although not much..
the mavics I am looking at because they are based on CXP-30 rims. I would love to build up a set of 24 hole King to cxp 30's (I have had this set before) but the rims are discontinued, and next to impossible to find in any hole count, never mind 24 which was hard to find when they made them.
Anything esle I should look at or consider. I have discounted Rolf's for various reasons, so you do not need to mention those. Good wheels, just not what I am looking for. I know the advantages and disadvantages of them, but do to personal experience will not buy them again.

thanks for the help, it is appreciated.

ride hard!

I once read that wheels with aero rims lower than 38mm was not to be very aero wheels, and it maybe is true, but I think Cosmic Elite`s is the better choice. I have never heard very good stuff about the Shimano wheels. Take a look at used Campy wheels like Shamal, Vento or Zonda. The Vento wheels were discontinoued last year but should be possible to find. New Shamals would be too expensive though.
TT`s are fun & pain.....
