setting odo on flight deck?(3 posts)

setting odo on flight deck?Alan B

My battery died and I've read the manual 'til I went blind looking for a way to set my odo back to the correct mileage now that I've replaced the battery. Can it be done? How? I know there are those here who hate the flight deck, but this is my first real problem with it. Thanks.

... assumming that you're dealing with the 6501 head unit, in any mode other than clock, press the "B" button for 5 seconds... this should get you into the data entry mode. Then scroll through the screens as usual ("A" button to change... "B" button to scroll... though I believe that you must only press said "B" button for a second... 2 seconds or more will kick you out of the data entry mode... I think...).

Good luck and...

Be the bike.

As already mentioned, you can only set the odometer on the 6501 (the older 6500 does not have that feature)

To set the odometer, you have to reset the computer with the AC button on the back - you then select miles/km, set the odometer, set the wheel size, set up the chain rings/cogs, deraileur type, and time.

If you try to adjust the settings without resetting the computer (by holding the B button for 5 seconds) it starts you out at the wheel diameter and skips the odometer stuff.
