|I was checking over my bike for a bike race tomorrow and filled my tires. All of a sudden my tube popped. It turns out that my rim tape tore around one of the spoke holes and puctured my tire. I dont have any rim tape to repair and all of the local bike shops are closed, what else can I use?|

|Ideally, use cloth medical tape if you have any: the narrow beige sort used for securing dressings. This is just as good as Velox and cheaper. Otherwise, ordinary electrical tape will work fine, given 2 or 3 layers, though it will likely eventually give up at the eyelets (after many hundreds or thousands of miles- not in one race). if you haven't either of these, well, use your imagination: get whatever tape you can find, it's not that critical and even Sellotape would work for a while. You could od course use any of these methods just to repair your existing tape.
Good luck in the race
