Stem suggestions for my new Pinarello...vram
Aug 15, 2001 7:36 PM
I have saved the components from my previous bike and plan to use it on my new Pinarello Opera frame. The only component I can't use is the threaded stem. I currently have a TTT handlebar, what threadless stem would you recommend?

Stick with the 3T. Zepp is the way to go. $100 and about 130 grams. Very expensive, but the lightest thing out there within reason.

BTW: do you have the frame? can I sak how much you paid and where you got it? I'm looking into Pinarello as well.

I actually ordered the frame through my LBS in May! It's at the LBS to be built-up. The price I paid for it is unreal cause I got a pro-deal from the LBS who also sponsors our club. It is a great looking frame (I have the Fassa Bortolo colors) and I only hear great things about the ride quality. More when I actually get to ride it.

Thanks for your suggestion.
If weight is an issue . . .DCW

check carefully. The weights quoted here for the Solido and the Zepp differ remarkably from catalog sources. Weight varies, of course, with length, so make sure to compare stems of your length.

I have an Opera and I use an ITM Millennium. Not sure what paint scheme you have, but mine is silver and the black ITM looks very nice. Oh yes, it's stiff enough although in my opinion, stems are pretty much stems.
