|Velomax Ascent Problem||mapman|

|I've 750 miles on a pair of Velomax Ascents. I'm 47 165lbs not a real aggressive rider and don't hit many (any?) potholes. I broke a rear drive side spoke at the nipple during a climb. I've emailed Velomax and no reply. Anybody had experience with Velomax's warrenty/problem resolution dept? I'd hate to think they're avoiding the issue here.|

|I had exactly the same problem with the rear wheel on my Velomax Orion sewup wheels. I sent the wheel back to the factory, where they very quickly respoked the wheel and returned it to me. They claimed they've only seen a few broken spokes, total, in all the wheels they've made. Go to their website, www.velomax.com, get their phone number, and telephone them. I've had a number of problems with my wheels and have had to send the rear wheel back repeatedly. |
I can't recommend the wheels, I've had too many problems. But VM has fixed them every time I've had a problem.

|I had Ascents for all of 300 - 400 miles in which time I pretty much toasted the rear - it was probably improperly tensioned at the factory and would not stay true. After 2 truing trips to a shop and one to Velomax, I finally got my money back and got a set of Ksyriums - wish I would have done that in the first place...|

|I can't speak for their e-mail dept., but I've called Velomax a couple of times and have always been pleased. So I would recommend picking up the phone. They answered questions for me when deciding to buy and questions after. I weigh 215 and have 2,000 miles on a pair of Orion Comps without any problems.|

|I've been riding and racing a pair of Orion's for three years, with absolutely zero problems. And some of the racing has been cyclocross. Sorry to hear about the problems, but of all the wheels I've been around at the shop I work at, Velomax's have had by far the fewest problems compared to others.
And they definitely take good care of their products when there's a problem, but try them on the phone. They're small, so email takes a while.
