Aero vs. light(2 posts)

Aero vs. lightGreyhound

I have some choices in building up a pair of wheels, and am trying to decide between Mavic Cxp33 rims and bladed spokes, or open pros and straight guage or revolution spokes. Both on the same hubs, kings or dura ace. I ride for Davis so aero would be important for training, but maybe not as much in races around the state. I am also supposedly a climber in body type, if that helps. Any input would be apreciated.

This website ( http://www.analyticcycling.com ) suggests that in most situations, aero beats light. Of course, if you can have both, do that (Zipp 303 tubular, for example). If I were in Davis (Fresno, here), I'd go aero. Besides, the 33's aren't much heavier than Open Pros, are they?

For riding in the hillier races, as there are plenty of those in California, the Velocity Aerohead is light and a little aero. I wouldn't rule out Ksyriums, too.
