|Wanted to find out if anyone tried/own the Profile Designs Elite Pro Carbon Cranks. Are they really stiffer and lighter than Shimano? How do they compare to other carbon cranks such as Zipp and FSA? Any thoughts and experiences would be appreciated.|

|They're not significantly lighter than Dura-Ace, probably in the neighborhood of 50g- the reason the quoted weights are so much lighter is that aftermarket cranks are typically wieghed without chainrings, chainring bolts, or in some cases even the spider. So it seems like they're a lot lighter, but they really aren't. According to Damon Rinard's weight comparisons, the difference is 64g between the claimed weight of Profile (420g) and actual weight of Shimano (484g). They look cooler though...
The FSA have an actual weight of 405g.
I can't imagine a crank being a lot stiffer than the Dura-Ace, but I have been wrong before. Keep in mind that if you use a traditional bottom bracket (or heaven forbid, a ti one), you will lose some of the stiffness that you gained by getting carbon crankarms.
