Mavic Cosmic Equipe or Ultegra/Mavic Open ProEvan

I'm building up a bike and considering what wheels to
put on it. It will be used mostly for faster training
rides and racing. My two main choices are a pair of
2000 Mavic Cosmic Equipes with about 500 miles on them,
or a new pair of Ultegra hubs laced to Mavic Open Pro
rims with 14/15 spokes. They would both cost the same,
$200. Let me know what you think.

the Ultegra with Mavic open Pros. Currently using 98 Cosmic Equipes and found them to be slow on flats but once you get them up to speed they'll go. As for the latter choice, I've been using 105 and matrix rims with dt straight 15 ga. over every kind of terrain (roads in Manila are considered to be the off-road variety) without a problem. Although it'll be easier (I think) to service the mavic hub which uses industrial bearing with the special tool that comes with it if you can buy the bearing at your hardware store.
