My Chris King headset came loose. There is no washer between the two nuts. Should there be?
Not quite sure but check this...Cima Coppi

If you have the "grip nut" style headset than there needs to be a washer, other wise it is not necessary.
There are no washers.DrD

The gripnut doesn't have a washer (I have the gripnut version, and there is no washer - there is a lower nut, a collet, and an upper nut (collet threads onto the steerer, upper nut threads onto the lower nut). The other threaded version - the 2-nut - doesn't use any washers either. for more info, go to www.chrisking.com - lots of info on their products (schematics, adjusting procedures, etc.)
