|Tomorrow I will be picking up my bicycle with Chorus 10-speed and I would like to ask for any advice/tips on things to notice as I take the bicycle out for a test ride. I am thinking that after I ride for about 30 minutes, I will need some fine tuning which the shop mechanic will do.
However, I would like to ask if there are any things I should be looking out for as this will be the first time I will be riding a Campagnolo setup.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

|Your new group will need less tuning than you think. I also recently got a new bike with Chorus. In about 650 miles, all I have done is center the brakes and adjust the rear derailer once. Also, if the bike was built up well, 30 minutes will probably not be enough time to create a need for fine tuning. I adjusted the derailer at about 200 miles and it is just starting to need a very minor adjustment. Good luck, I am sure you will love this group, I do. Re-post if you have and further questions.|

|Dean is correct on the tuning. What you may see over the first couple hundred miles is minor stretch in the derailleur and brake cables requiring fine tuning. Right out of the shop, you may not notice anything that needs adjustment. Do check the wheels for being true and round, and inspect the frame for any scratches that it may have incurred while being built.|

|I picked up my Casati Forma with Campy Chorus 10 speed and Campy Nucleon wheels in late April this year.
The first time out on it, I wasn't able to get into the 53 ring when I was in 18 or 19. I brought it back, they made some minor adjustments and still sometimes I would get into the 53 and sometimes it wouldn't when I was in 18 or 19.
The mechanic at the shop told me that it needs to be broken in. Sure enough, 550 miles later, there are no problems at all.
I LOVE my Chorus. I used to ride Shimano 600. Not to knock Shimano, but I'll never go back. I just really like Campy better than Shimano. It's very clean and smooth. What a joy.

|The mechanic was being lazy. There is no break in for 10 speed Campy. Mine worked flawlessly out of the shop and still does 2500+ miles later. I imagine the front der needed some tweaking.|

|For now just make sure you can hit all the gears. The thumb shifter or button will probably feel a little hard to operate, don't panic this is the way something that is built to virtually last a life time operates right out of the box. After a few hundred miles the mechanisms will be broken in and will shift like butter for the rest of your life.|

|you shouldn't really have to do anything for w while...especially if the cables are pre stretched. and then after they do stretch you oughtta learn how to do minir adjustments yourself. If you have done this with 9 speed, 10 really isn't any different.|

|I've got Daytona 10 on my bike. When I had it built up, I went to a shop that shall remain nameless to save 20 or 30 bucks on the build. You get what you pay for. I had shifting issues, noise, you name it. Even after the slightly bent derailleur hanger was corrected, it still wasn't right. I finally gave in and took it to another shop w/ a good wrench. Lo and behold it's PERFECT. Smooth, fast, crisp and quiet under any loads. DON'T BE CHEAP!! trust me.|

|For the first time this year, I too have been riding Campy Chorus 10 speed. It is wonderful and it was set up perfectly.
I agree with a previous poster, the most important thing is a good mechanic.
