|Salsa SUL stem owners please read||rattled|

I installed a SALSA SUL stem today, according to the instructions, but the top part of the face plate is flush with the stem, while the bottom part has about a 1.5 cm gap between the face plate and the stem.
The instructions state clearly to tighten the top bolt first, completely, before tightening the bottom bolt.
Any suggestions, feedback appreciated.

|The design of the SUL stem is such that all of the force is placed on the "stiff upper lip" eliminating the potential for bolts to fail. It's a really good design that we'll probably see more of. That being said, are you sure it's a 1.5cm gap? That seems longer than the bolt would be.|

|More like ".5" cm ... not 1.5. But there is a definite gap on the bottom, with none on the top ... So you have a SUL stem on your bike that looks like that? kind of makes me nervous ...
I called QBP and the guy on the other end said it should be flush on the bottom, so now I am confused ...
|Called QBP back- - Supposed to fit like that. Thanks!! (nm)||rattled|
