Modolo Morphos Shifters(4 posts)

I am considering these shifters. I am running an older Shimano 7-speed setup, and don't want (read 'can't afford') to upgrade to a more modern grouppo. My down-tube shifters were not a problem when I only used my bike for training rides and Century's. Lately I have been running in a weekly roadrace series, and the DT shifters are no longer getting the job done. 7-speed STI shifters are rare and expensive. The Morphos shifters are not cheap, but if I can continue to use them as I upgrade other parts of the drivetrain, they seem to be worth the investment.

My questions are these:

1. Do they work well?
2. Do they hold up well?
3. Are they easy to install and maintain?
4. Would you buy them again?

Thanks in advance for your comments. I can also be reached vie e-mail at jrp@iserv.net

I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

1. They don't really work at all.
2. They might hold up, but they still won't work.
3. They are as easy to install as any brake/shift lever.

I just upgraded my spouse's Shimano 7-speed bike (BioPace triple, even!) using 8-speed Campy shifters. They shift just fine, running the Shimano cassette and Shimano front/rear derailers.
