Not a newbie, but a newbie question. (2 posts)
| Not a newbie, but a newbie question. | 4bykn May 29, 2001 2:25 PM | | Got a new bike, set up with Ultegra, and wondering how to remove the "self-extracting" cranks? I know how to remove the old square taper cranks, but this splined thing is all new to me. It appears I only need to unscrew the crank arm bolts to remove? Thanks for any help. |
| You got it | Spoke Wrench May 29, 2001 5:06 PM | | As long as the cranks aren't on too tight they come off just fine with the self extacting rings. Too loose and I suppose they would come off all by themselves.
It looks to me like they don't take any special tools to remove, but you really should use a torque wrench to install them. |
