Got a new bike, set up with Ultegra, and wondering how to remove the "self-extracting" cranks? I know how to remove the old square taper cranks, but this splined thing is all new to me. It appears I only need to unscrew the crank arm bolts to remove? Thanks for any help.

As long as the cranks aren't on too tight they come off just fine with the self extacting rings. Too loose and I suppose they would come off all by themselves.

It looks to me like they don't take any special tools to remove, but you really should use a torque wrench to install them.
