Does anyone have any experience with this (relatively new?) pedal system? Any opinions?
Thanks! |

Not sure if you are still monitoring this post, but I recently traded in my Speedplay X2's for this new Coombe pedal system. I have the Sidi cleats, so they are recessed into the bottom of the shoe. You can barely tell that you have a cleat on the shoe at all. I love them - to answer your question. Not as much float as the Speedplays, which really doesnt bother me. The worksmanship is astounding and with a little practice, the ins/outs become very easy. I did have to lower my seat about an 1/8 of an inch to compensate for the lower cleat stack over the axle, and the knees had to adjust a little to the lack of float I had with the X2's. These are both minor points though- I definitely think these will catch on like wildfire- especially as soon as someone sees them in person. To have a pedal system with no moving parts is just bizarre- and they work great!
Hope this helps.... BTW if you buy them direct from Coombe they will give you a 30 day no questions asked guarantee. You dont like em- send em back. Who else is going to let you TRY their pedals and then allow you to return them?
