|I need to change the bars I have on my bike (traditional road bars)to the triathlete style bullhorn bars. How do i get the brakehoods and brakes off of the bars to get it off the stem(it is an old stem and has the one bolt, not the type where the front face of it comes off). I have the tape unwraped and am ready to switch the bars and I know how to rewire the new brakes(dia comp style) on the bullhorns. Please help!|

|If you have Shimano STI style brakes, you can see a groove on the outside of the brake hood. Use a 5mm allen wrench in that goove to loosen the brake lever.
If you have Campy Ergo levers, you have to pull the brake hood away from the top of the lever to reveal the fastener that holds it onto the handlebar.
If you have brake levers that are separate from the shifters, first remove the brake cable. Then pull the lever as if you were putting on the brake and look inside with a flashlight. You will see either a screw fitting or an allen fitting that holds the brake lever onto the handlebar.
