| Convert 13-26 to 11-30 8spd | ST May 25, 2001 2:35 PM | | I have a 96 trek bike with an Shimano 8spd 105 drivetrain and an 600 rear deraileur. Lately, my friends have been taking me on rides that have lots of hills. Although I can climb with the gearing that I have now, I feel it would be easier on my knees if I have a higher gear than the 13-26. I looked at the 8 spd XT cassete, but I am not sure that it will work with deraileur. I don't want to spend alot of money to get a triple. What do I need in order to get the drive train to work with an XT11-30 cassete? |

You may have to fiddle with chain length and B tension adjustment. |
