Cinelli quil to ahead adaptor(3 posts)

Cinelli quil to ahead adaptorPing Pong

I have recently bought one of these adaptors, hoping to stick a spare ITM big-one stem on it to try some different bar positions. I am not familiar with ahead systems, let alone this adaptor. The adaptor came with no instructions, and the mail order place I got it from seemed not to care what I did with it!

1) The stubby end that attaches to the stem is shorter than the clamp on the ITM big one - Problem?

2) There is no max limit on the height for the quill part, does it have to sit right down, or if not do I need to buy a spacer to do this?

Any help would be appreciated!

ITs ok if its shorter than the stack height of the stem by up to 5mm or so. If its more than that I wouldnt run this stem.

I would guess that since there are no maximum lines on this adapter, it was meant to run all the way in.

Yes, I'm running the Cinelli quil adaptor with the ITM Millenium stem and bars. I run it all the way "in". Mine also is a few mm short of reaching the top of the stem's opening. This let me finish it off nicely with a SRP gold dust cap to match the gold frame/fork.

I've got a couple of thousand miles on this set up with no problems, slip, or adjustments needed... (so far...) My headset is Ultegra/600 on a Trek icon fork (Trek Y-77 y-foil frame.)

Hope this helps.
