anyone out there on a regular basis invert(run the other side) of the chain to increase life and wear with positive results. i understand components wear well together, but, i think if chain was reversed regualrly enough (500 miles) it would be new enough to positively effect crank, pulleys, etc etc. any experience?

I can't see a lot of value to this. The main area of wear is the chain bushings. This cause the chain to "stretch" as it wears. A stretched chain will also prematurely wear your cogs and chainrings. Reversing the chain will not help this. Chains are relatively cheap. Replacement when its worn is the best approach.
