Carbon Fork/inverted stem(4 posts)

Carbon Fork/inverted stemNpedro

I want to raise my handle bars a little. Is there any reason I shouldn't flip the stem upside down? It's an ITM Millenium stem on an Ouzo(carbon steerer) fork. The stem doesn't seem to be asymetrical or anything like that.
It seems this would be a better option for carbon forks because one can avoid using spacers, no?

No reason It cannot work. If you look at alot of the new stems, the logo is printed both ways so the stem can be mounted either way
It's what I have doneJ.S.

As well as a few of my friends. Some people complain about how it looks, who cares as long as it works.

I would also like to try inverting the stem and would like to know the correct procedure. Do I first loosen the cap and then the clamps? Is it possible to mess anything up in the proces? (overtighten or strip anthing out?)

Thanks
