Mavic Kysium vs. Spinergy Xaerokem

Which is the better wheel between the Mavic Kysium and Spinergy Xaero, their weights are very similar and the Spinergy is more affordable. How does speed/acceleration vs. stiffness compare?
Ksyriums may be cheaper...dave

depending on where you buy. Both retail for $800 a set. Ksyriums can be had for under $500 from sdeals.com. I got a campy compatible set from totalcycling.com for $540, including delivery.

The Ksyriums are quite stiff, and accelerate well. No complaints.

Thanks for the tip. sdeals.com has the Ksyriums for ($500.00 pair) which is $300.00 cheaper than U.S. retail. How can this be? Have you had any experience ordering from Europe? This seems too good to be true...
lots of experience....dave

with both sdeals.com and totalcycling.com has been posted on this board. Haven't heard of any significant problems. The Ksyriums I got from totalcycling.com were air freighted by Parcel Force, with final delivery made by the U.S. postal service. Received mine 8 days after ordering. An easy $280 savings.

I think you'll be able to find Ksyriums and Xaeros at about the same price. I've been on Xaeros for two months and love them. They climb like a dream and accelerate very nicely. They soak up bumps nicely but don't feel mushy. They also look nice, especially after you ditch the 75 or so Spinergy stickers they put on each wheel. With the aero rim, you will feel a bit of a sidewind, but it's not a big issue. I have not spent any considerable time on Ksyriums so I have no basis for comparing the two.
Go for the Xaero's!keith m.

less common, more aero, nicer riding.
