howdy! I've got a b.b. from a early eightees dura ace crankset, and it's just kicking around my bike box. It's in good shape, and I want to use it for something. I also have an RSX crankset in that very same box. Now, my question is this: will that DA bb work with the RSX crankset? It has the same thread pitch, and I think the sping\dle is the same diameter (although I'm not too sure on that one). Does anyone have any suggestions? I am inclined to say it will work.

If the spindle length is the same or close to that required by the crankset, it will work fine.DA cranks used relatively short spindles(But maybe not the earliest ones). RSX cranksets used somewhar longer ones.Worst case would be not enough clearance between chainrings and chainstays.

The only Dura Ace bottom bracket that is not compatible with other cranksets is the 7410 model produced in the early 90's. The spindle length 103 on this BB, Your spindle is probably 112 or 113 long. It should work with your RSX.
