Has anyone tried the Ritchey PRO series road tires yet? I was thinking of getting a pair of MIX's or MAX's but would like some feedback first. Thanks.

|I'm a certified tire fiend and I've tried all 3 of Ritchey's Pro tires...the Mix, Max and Slick. I really can't recommend the Max unless you are using it for commuting or cruising around, way too much tread in my opinion. |
Currently I have the Slicks mounted on my back up bike and they have held up to the trainer very well and show little wear. I switched from the Mix's because I wanted something with a little less tread. I use the Max's on my cross bike when I want to cruise the bike paths and neighborhood...I don't like to use my full on cross tires for riding on asphalt.
All in all, I have been happy with all 3 tires...plus I am a sucker for Ritchey products. They corner well, the Slicks and the Mix have a pretty low rolling resistance and all 3 are very predictable and have a very supple casing, giving a fairly soft ride even when pumped up to 110-120 psi.....compared to the Hutchinson Carbon Comps on my new main ride which are pretty harsh at 110 psi....probably going to switch those out soon. I would get a new pair of Slicks, but I am going for the all black look.
Now that I think about it, I have a pair of the WCS Mix's or the WCS Max's, I forget which, that I bought and never got around to mounting. If you are interested, I will sell them to you for a good price.
