I am considering buying tires through Parker Int'l or another non-US retailer.. Are there major drawbacks, e.g., import fees, customs hassles, other state or fed regs that would make the purchase not worthwhile? Thanks!

I'm waiting on wheels from parker. They have been very responsive and provided the tracking numbers etc... once the package shipped. I've bought from other UK vendors also with no problem. Also check out www.bikekit.co.uk. They had some great deals on tires last I looked.

I've always been pleased with Parker Intl.

You might also want to look at www.saddlesore.co.uk

Not sure about their delivery to the US but I've been very pleased with their service here (England).

Not quite as good a range as Parker but some REALLY cheap latest version stuff available - eg Look HSC3 forks Saddlesore £145, Parker £195.

Happy Shopping

FYI: I just got my wheels from Parker.
Shipped on 3/28, arrived on 4/4 East Coast USA.
Probikekit(also in UK) sent me some stuff;
shipped on 3/27 arrived on 4/3.
Both shipments via Parcel Force
(which then seems to hand-off to USPS
since it was my mailman that made the delivery).
Both places quote longer delivery times.
