Does anyone have a clue which seatpost provides the most setback? I've seen two on the market that provide anywhere from 15mm (Thomson)to 40mm(LOOK)setback, but the cost is pretty high (to me, anyway). Any tips, hints or clues? The bottom line is I'd like to push my saddle back another 40mm without having to pay $160+.

Had this problem on one bike with a 74deg seat angle. Kalloy worked fine for me. Around $17 and only weighs an ounce more than a $100 American Classic Ti. However, I don't think you'll get 4cm out of it. That's a pretty big jump. What overall saddle setback are you looking for (tip of seat behind BB)?

I'm looking for between 35mm and 40mm setback (tip of saddle behind BB or TT bisected at BB+cranklength). After seeing the responses to my post, I called a local shop with the respondent's suggestions and tips. Fortunately, someone there is keen to the situation, so I'm hopeful. Thanks for the info.

4cm is not a lot of setback, unless you have a TT bike with a really steep seat tube. I have my setback at 8.2cm without resorting to any wacky seatpost configurations.

Probably the best seat post ever available for gaining set back was the Vitus Waybacker. Sad to say, the Waybacker is no longer being manufactured. Probably, the best basic posts for set back is the Nitto Frog, Crystal Fellow, or one of the Campagnolo's. I had the same problem of gaining set back recently and was able to get a Gipiemme {Italy} off of an old Bianchi that seems to meet my needs. The Nitto's can be purchased off of www.rivendellbicycles.com. Best wishes!
Dont forget the RaceFace XO. I dont know the numbers, butJimbob

it looks to be set back pretty good. I could be wrong with the exact name. Last I checked they offered two posts. One with a standard setback and one with a quite generous setback. These are well made. It will come in probably a 300 mm length.
