I'm installing a new set of Shimano DA brake calipers. The calipers come with a bolt that fastens them to the frame and fork. They also come with two washers (with teethes) and a curved washer that is meant to sit against the frame or fork. But my fork or frame's point of attachment is NOT curved, It is flat!!!
The curved washer just wont fit. Its edges will dig in and most likely damage my frame/fork. Do I need to use this curved washer??
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

|They can't anticipate which kind of fork you're going to have so they include the parts for any setup. Put the curved washer in your misc. small parts jar.|

|I've installed them, and I don't use the curved washer. Never had a problem. |
